Staff Sgt. Roberto Andrade Jr., 26, was born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. Roberto served 3 tours of duty in Iraq. He was just weeks away from coming home for good when he was killed in Baghdad when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 66th Armor, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas. Roberto is survived by his father, Roberto and Veronica Andrade, mother Sandra and Rick Valencia, sisters, Veronica (Denise) Andrade, Angelica Andrade, Patricia Valencia, brother, Joseph Valencia, grandfather, Augustine Andrade, grandmothers, Blanca "Gloria" Sosa, Vicky "Mima" Munari and niece Laila Analise Urquieta who stole his heart. He was preceded in death by his grandfather "Papalu" Munari. Roberto's funeral was held on January 30, 2009 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Serenity Chapel. Interment followed at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery.
