Sgt. Jesse A. Ault of Dublin, Virginia was a Tyler Consolidated High School graduate where he played football and baseball and was an excellent student. He grew up in Middlebourne, W. Virgina. He had been with the Virginia National Guard for six years and served two tours in Iraq during his 10 year career with the United States Army. After he served his first tour in Iraq, Jessie was discharged from the Guard. He took a job and settled in Virginia. He then re-enlisted. He had been serving in Iraq with the Virginia National Guard for 10 months, but it wasn’t his first tour of duty there. Jessie met his wife, Betsy, while both were serving a previous tour in the same unit. He was three weeks away from returning home when he was killed by a roadside bomb at age 28. Jesse was the son of Ronald Ault and Virginia VonDran Billiter. His maternal grandfather, Harold VonDran and paternal grandmother, Betty Ault preceded him in death.
