Sgt. John M. Rogers, 26, of Scottsdale, Ariz., died June 27 at Forward Operating Base Blessing, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. John resided in Scottsdale, AZ and was an Arizona native, to which he was extremely proud of. He was preceded in death by his Mom, Pamela, who went to be with the "Angels" this past January 25, 2010. John is survived by his sister Kayla Reynolds, niece Alyssa Reynolds, Grandparents Bill and Jean Stuart, his Aunt Lori (Ismael), cousins Nichole, Jessica and Ashley (Angelo), his "babies", Christian, Donell, Blake, Kaydin and Brooklynn, all of whom loved their "Gay Dog" so very much, Uncle Bill (Ann), cousins Madison, Casey and Greg, Step Dad Rob Bryan, Dad John Rogers, stepmom Jenny Rogers and sister Sally, brother Jimmy and his best friends Greg, Rick and Pat. John is also survived by numerous friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.
